After school music clubs
Make Music’s wide range of different music clubs provide a great way for primary schools to nurture its young musicians and broaden its after school provision. Catering for all kinds of music, instruments and school events, they’re engaging, fun activities that pupils really enjoy.
Our after school music clubs are available to primary schools throughout Bath and the surrounding areas of North East Somerset and Wiltshire and include the following:
- Music club (KS1). Children make music through a variety of games and activities using percussion, ukulele, junk band instruments and voices. They learn in a fun way about the building blocks of music: melody, rhythm and beat. Children begin to learn to read music, to improvise and compose musical stories, to listen and to move to a range of different music.
- Music club (KS2). Children learn to play well-known songs by their favourite pop stars and tunes from their favourite feature films. It’s an opportunity for them to try their hand at song writing and composing for film. Children develop key musical skills including improvisation, reading music and playing in a group.
- Orchestra club. An opportunity to create and develop a primary school orchestra capable of performing at school concerts and other special events.
- Concert club. Let Make Music take the stress out of organising your primary school concert. Leave it to us. Children will rehearse at the club and put on a fantastic performance at the end of term.
- Ukulele club. It’s all about playing the uke and singing along. Children learn chords and tunes, develop finger picking and strumming techniques and learn to play their favourite songs.
- Recorder club. Children learn to play fun tunes, read music and perform in a group. Make Music recorder clubs have performed in public, at the Bath Abbey, the Mid-Somerset Festival and other local events.
